Cancellation of ReSIT in Johor

Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC) wishes to inform you that due unforeseen circumstances, the Regional Seminar on Islamic Tourism (ReSIT) scheduled to be held from 21 - 22 May 2012 in Johor Bahru, Johor has been cancelled. 

ITC expresses it’s regrets for any inconvenience caused due to the cancellation. However, ITC is delighted to invite all participants from the Southern region to the Regional Seminar in Kangar, Perlis which will be held as scheduled from 18-19 June 2012.

Islamic City set to take shape in Shah Alam

Section 5 in Shah Alam is set to be turned into an “Islamic City” after the final plans have been approved by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) and Selangor government.

When completed, Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrhaim said it would be a new breather for Shah Alam and is expected to further boost the city’s potential in business, tourism and art.

Johor tourist arrivals to increase after Legoland opens

The opening of the Legoland Theme Park in September and the Desaru tourism development in three years will bring in more than five million tourists to the state from the current 3.8 million.

In the first quarter of the year, Johor received 6.193 million day trippers compared to 3.981 million in 2011.
