  • MRT a ‘blessing’ for commuters who can visit 18 places of worship

    Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA — You can now take public transport to 18 places of worship of all faiths around the Klang Valley. Masjid Jamek Pekan in Sungai Buloh is a seven-minute walk from the Sungai Buloh MRT station. Commuters can also board MRT feeder buses T102 and T103 to reach the mosque in under five minutes.   • Special Umrah Licence will be Enforced from Oct 1

    Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA — Effective Oct 1 this year, only tourism agencies with special umrah licence issued by the Tourism and Culture Ministry will be allowed to handle umrah packages. Tourism and Culture Ministry Deputy Secretary-General, Madam Nor Yahati Awang said this was to enable the authorities to monitor comprehensively the tourism agencies concerned and curb the occurrence of umrah package scams.
