Bus Company Mulls Service To Royal Belum Park

IPOH, Sept 20 (Bernama) -- A bus company has expressed interest to provide a bus service from here to the Royal Belum State Park in Gerik to facilitate the transportation of tourists to the eco-tourism resort, Perak Tourism Committee chairman Datuk Hamidah Osman said.

She said the service was most necessary as the government was striving to draw more tourists to the state in conjunction with Visit Perak Year next year.

"I am confident the bus service will alleviate the problem of transportation for tourists intending to visit Royal Belum," she told a news conference.

The Royal Belum State Park comprises virgin forest 130 million years old spread over 117,500 hectares.

Hamidah also said that the state government would put up 17 Visit Perak Year billboards at strategic places, including at the KL International Airport and the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) in Sepang and the KL Sentral station in Kuala Lumpur.
