With the addition of the new recipients, the total number of MFAR-recognised tourism players in Malaysia now stands at 100 establishments, reflecting growing industry participation in strengthening Muslim-friendly tourism offerings.

The recognition underscores Malaysia’s continued efforts to enhance industry readiness in serving the rapidly expanding global Muslim travel market while promoting inclusive tourism experiences for travellers from diverse backgrounds.

The MFAR initiative is a key programme by ITC under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture to guide and recognise tourism stakeholders that implement Muslim-friendly practices in their operations, further strengthening Malaysia’s position as a leading destination for Muslim-friendly tourism. MFAR guidelines are currently available for accommodation premises, travel agencies, and spa and wellness centres, with the development of additional guidelines for more sectors in the pipeline.
